What the money is for

Every photo and story shines a light on cancer and the impact we can make together, and every donation goes to support cancer care.

All donations support Friends of the Cancer Centre, Cancer Fund for Children and the Johnston Cancer Research Centre at Queen’s.

The launch

Nine people stand in a row on the steps in front of a red-brick building with a carved sandstone archway. The woman in the middle holds one of the large metal reindeer plaques.Close-up of hands holding one of the large metal reindeer plaques. It reads Colum's Reindeer World Tour 2026-27 above a black reindeer head, with the three charities' logos along the bottom.

The charities we support

Friends of the Cancer Centre Belfast City

Charity no. NIC101345

Friends of the Cancer Centre has been dedicated to making a real and meaningful difference to cancer patients and their families across Northern Ireland for over 40 years.

The charity is here to enhance the quality of patient care and support through its life-changing and life-saving work, which includes funding additional nurses, supporting local research and providing practical support, such as financial grants, which help families through a difficult time.

Friends of the Cancer Centre relies on the generosity of the local community with all of the money donated, staying in Northern Ireland, directly benefitting patients and their families.

The Queen’s University of Belfast Foundation

Charity no. NIC102044

Since 1999, the Queen’s University of Belfast Foundation has been a leading driver of philanthropy at Queen's, helping to deliver the University's vision in Northern Ireland and across the world.

From supporting critical cancer research to widening participation programmes, Queen’s is continually embedding philanthropy into all we do.

All donations received through the Reindeer Project fundraising campaign will support life-changing cancer research at The Johnston Cancer Research Centre at Queen's, where our researchers are finding new ways to advance and tackle cancer care, giving hope through new discoveries.

Cancer Fund for Children

Charity no. NIC100532

Cancer Fund for Children is an all-island charity that supports children, young people and families impacted by cancer. Our vision is that no child should face cancer alone. Through specialist emotional, social and therapeutic support delivered at home, in the community, in hospitals and at Daisy Lodge, we help families navigate the challenges that cancer can bring. By providing the right support at the right time, we connect and empower young people and their families to cope better with the impact of cancer on their lives.
